Abstract
Probably not. Although some European and international experts recommend that all athletes undergo preparticipation electrocardiogram (EKG) screening, it's unclear whether screening reduces the risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD); US experts don't recommend it routinely for school-aged athletes.
